Simple Elegance - Brunch

There is something absolutely endearing about a classic brunch event. We have just recently redone our breakfast/brunch menu and it has left me inspired and even more interested in the classic elegance of a catered brunch. I love that our breakfast menu has such a breadth of different food. We have everything from migas, a tex-mex version of eggs, to pancake breakfasts and shrimp and grits. Besides, who doesn't love an excuse to sip on a mamosa every once and a while?

Here is an inspiration board that I hope can inspire you as much as it has me. Feel free to call us to see how we can cater a delicious brunch that your guests will LOVE!

*Our most inexpensive breakfast starts at $6.50 a person, this includes the meal and drinks. We pride ourselves in offering delicious food at very reasonable prices. Give us a call, we offer complimentary estimates!

MAC Discount

It's getting to be that time of year again! The time of year when everyone's hosting a party and eating WAY too much. But don't feel guilty, we all deserve a chance to reflect and congratulate ourselves on a job well done. That's why, we are offering a 10% discount to all members of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce for their personal or work events before January 1st, 2011.

MFR Catering has only been a part of the MAC for a couple of weeks but we have already gotten a chance to see some of the great things they do for the city of Atlanta. We feel so priveledged to have already gotten a chance to network and meet with some of the hardest working individuals in Atlanta at various Metro Atlanta Chamber Events. We are offering this discount to MAC members not only because of the friendships we have built with many, but also because they deserve it!

What better way to close out a year and let employees know they are appreciated than by throwing them a party or catering their lunch?! Feel free to call or e-mail us to see how we can help you make your next personal or business event a success!

Hayley's Bat Mitzvah

To say the least, this weekend was extremely eventful! We had one event to cater on Friday, two events on Saturday and one event on Sunday. Although it was a lot of work it was definitely well worth it! The more experience we get the better we become. Our events this past week ranged from a corporate luncheon, to a 13 year old's Bat Mitzvah, to a martini party!

The party I attended and helped cater was a Bat Mitvah for a girl named Hayley. Everything looked Awesome! When I walked in I couldn't believe all the details Haley's mom had put into everything. She had great centerpieces that really helped incorporate the theme.

*please excuse the poor photo quality. I was using my iphone camera.

She even had tie-dye Yamakas!!

This is where we had the food line set up. A close family friend of the hostess provided drinks and we provided the meal and desserts! They ordered some awesome cakes for Hayley's Birthday.

All in all Hayley's mom did an awesome job decorating for her Bat Mitzvah and we were so glad we got to be a part of it. Here's one last little detail that was adorable, and a little hard to clean up!

Making A Comeback

An interesting shift has taken place within the catering world. The days of pretentious food with immaculate presentation are going to the wayside. More and more people planning events are looking for something different, something that expresses who they are. Noone wants to feel like a stranger at their own wedding, so why not diverge from the norm and serve a food at your event that says something about you.

Raised in the south your whole life? Why not serve soul food at your next event?

Do you take pride in your heritage and where your family is from? Why not serve international cuisine, specific to your origins, at your next big event?

If you infuse your own personality into your event it is sure to be a hit!

Fried chicken, wings, and potato skins for a very casual event...something that your guests will truly enjoy!

As for this Greek chicken, you just can't go wrong! What better way to celebrate your heritage than by serving a traditional dish?

Planning An Event

Things are going to be pretty busy this week! We will be catering two business luncheons, one Bat Mitzvah, and a martini party, not to mention a few other small events. I will be sure to post up some pictures so everyone can see how they went!

As a catering company our areas of expertise are cuisine and food service. We have the capabilities to provide everything from basic buffet service to elaborate plated meals. Tell us what you want and we'll make it happen!

But what about when it comes to all of the other aspects of the event? Coordination? Decor? This is where an event planner comes in.

A hot topic I have come across again and again as a caterer is the topic of party planning. Unfortunately when people are trying to cut costs when planning an event they often start by cutting the planner. Coordinating an entire event couldn't be that hard, right?! Wrong. Coordinating every aspect of an event can be extremely challenging.  In the end, an event planner is worth their weight in gold! Leave it up to a planner to worry about the details while you sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself!

The other week I went to a networking event and had the pleasure of meeting a great planner named Ingrid Wiggberg. We met for coffee last week which I greatly enjoyed. Who doesn't love an excuse to drink coffee? Ingrid Wiggberg, the founder of The Party Makers, really helped give me some insight into event planning. I always knew that planners were a vital aspect to any event, and she definitely reaffirmed that for me. If you're in the process of planning an event definitely check out her website. Not only is she a great planner, but she is also a great person. Now that's a good combination!

And because every blog is better with a picture.....

The macaron...no, not macaroon. The macaron is quickly muscling in and becoming the next trend in sweets. Say goodbye to the cutesy cupcake and hello to these delicious colorful creations. I can't think of a better way to carry a color theme throughout an event. Give us a call to see how these fun little confections can be integrated into your next event!
